IMPORTANT INFORMATION

REGISTRATION CAN BE COMPLETED ONLINE ANYTIME BEFORE THE ENTRY DEADLINE BUT YOU MUST COME TO ORIENTATIN TO HAVE YOUR CONTESTANT PROGRAM PHOTO TAKEN AND TO AND ATTEND THE MANDATORY PARENTS MEETING.

EARLY REGISTRATION – SATURDAY JANUARY 31ST 4-5PM Mt View Del Taco.  If you are paying by check or cash, you must turn in money by this date to receive discount.  Completing the registration form online does not complete registration.  Registration is complete when payment is received.

ENTRY DEADLINE – SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 15TH 6PM

MANDATORY ORIENTATION – Orientation will be held on February 15th at 5pm at Los Domingo’s Restaurant – 1520 E. Main Street, Barstow, Ca. A parent and the contestant must be present.

ONLY 2 REHEARSALS A WEEK

Rehearsals will be held every Monday and Wednesday from 6-8pm starting on Monday February 16th.

ALL COVER, CENTER & PORTFOLIO PHOTOS ~   Must be turned in by entry deadline of February 15th.  All photos must include digital copies.

LAST DATE FOR SPONSOR SPACE & AD SALES ~ March 9th, Ad sales must be emailed with contestants name in subject line or turned in with the ad form at practice.

OTHER EVENT DATES WILL BE ANNOUNCED DURING ORIENTATION

ORIENTATION: All contestants must attend orientation. For those contestants who are under 18, a parent must attend with you.  All rules and regulations will be discussed, and the entire schedule of rehearsals will be reviewed.  Contestant numbers will be drawn, sizing for opening number costumes will be taken, and many other important activities will take place.    REQUIRED ATTIRE: Business Casual (dress or nice pant suit recommended photo will be taken for public release and people’s choice)

SPONSOR SPACE: Only the sponsor paying your entry fee will be recognized under your photo in the program book and announced on stageIf you wish to recognize and thank additional sponsors who have helped you in other ways, you may purchase a “Sponsor Space” for $25.00.  All spaces are business card size and can also be used to send a good luck message to the contestant.  (Spaces may be combined for larger space)

OPTIONALS: (PHOTOS CAN BE TURNED IN AT ANY TIME UP TO ENTRY DEADLINE (NO photos will be accepted after Entry Deadline — you MUST include a digital copy of all submitted photos)

COVER MODEL:  Two cover winners will be featured on the front and back cover of the program book, one from the Children’s Division and one from the Teen & Miss Division.

FRONT & BACK cover winners will receive: “Cover Model” Sash, and a trophy.  Four runners-up (2 in each division) will receive their photo in the program and a trophy.  You must supply your head and shoulder photo by the deadline date of Feb 15th (5X7 or 8X10 preferred ~ NO PROPS)

CENTERFOLD MODEL: One “Centerfold Model” from all Divisions. Winner to receive a “Centerfold Model” sash, and a trophy.

2 Runners-up will receive a trophy and their picture in the program.  Must be a FULL or 3/4 Body shot (5X7 or 8X10 preferred ~ PROPS OK).

PORTFOLIO MODEL: Submit a folder with 4 to 7 photos to be judged as a whole; photos should show a variety of poses, moods & styles.  Judged on overall content, versatility & quality of photos.  Winner receives feature page in program, Sash, Trophy.  2 Runners-up receive trophy.

ALL PHOTOS MUST BE RECENT AND NEVER SUBMITTED TO THE MISS BARSTOW PAGEANT IN THE PAST (Photos returned at dress rehearsal or earlier)

PHOTOGENIC: One Centerfold Model from all the Divisions.  

TALENT: A talent competition will be held around 10:30am on pageant day.  There will be 2 talent titles awarded between the Children’s and the Teen & Miss divisions.  If at least three (3) Teen & Miss Contestants enter Talent, an additional Teen & Miss Talent Title will be awarded.  Each talent winner will receive a crown, sash, trophy and will perform at the Teen & Miss Pageant.  Talent competition has no bearing on selection of Queen’s. (provide an MP3 music cut on a zip drive) Must be turned in by the beginning of pageant week.

AD SALES: An award will be offered to the Teen or Miss contestant that sells the most ads for the program book.  Winner to receive a plaque, $200.00 cash and a feature page in the program book.  Ad forms will be provided to those who wish to work towards this award, talk to the director.

TICKET SALES: An award will be offered to the Teen or Miss contestant that sells the greatest dollar amount in ticket sales.  Winner to receive a plaque, $200.00 cash and front row seating for four (4) family members.

REFUND POLICY: You are free to withdraw from the pageant at any time, but under no circumstances, nor for any reason, will you be entitled to a refund of entry fee, whether full or in part that you or someone else has paid on your behalf, past the Entry Deadline Date.  You must request the refund from the pageant director by this date.  Absolutely no exceptions to this policy.  (Most pageants offer NO REFUND, at any time)

Besides earning the distinction of being one of the most prestigious & respected Pageants in Southern California, the official Miss Barstow Pageant offers the largest prize package known to any local and many Regional, State & National pageants throughout the nation.

MISS BARSTOW Crown, sash, trophy, flowers, color portrait, Jacket, College Scholarship, wardrobe, gym memberships, opportunities to compete in other pageants, and event clothing.  Individual training for future pageants and much, much more.

                              CONTEST RULES & REGULATIONS              

The following are the rules, regulations, and requirements of Miss Barstow.  

  1. Miss contestants must be 17—25 years of age on the day of the pageant.  Must show a copy of Birth Certificate or drivers license.
  2. Teen contestants must be 13 to 16 years of age on the day of the pageant. Must supply a copy of Birth Certificate.
  3. Contestants must meet the following criteria:

– Single (not married)

– Born female

– Have not been previously married nor had a marriage annulment

– Never have been pregnant, given birth or be pregnant

– Must be a fulltime resident of the Barstow area for at least 3 months prior to pageant (prove entrants’ residency if not attending a local school)

– Must remain a fulltime resident for the duration of years reign (if military, include letter from commanding officer guaranteeing no transfer/relocation for year)

– Should possess moral integrity (no criminal record)

– Must agree to relinquish any titles held within the same age division competing for, if crowned Teen or Miss Barstow

  1. If it is proven, any contestant or their family who exhibits unsportsmanlike conduct, will be ineligible for future competitions at the director’s discretion.
  2. Previous contestants may compete provided they have not held the title they are competing for at any time in the past.
  3. Past or current princesses may compete provided they upheld their contract for a majority of time throughout their years reign in the division they wish to compete in.
  4. Contestant is judged on the basis of physical fitness, poise, personality, personal interview, stage and microphone presence.
  5. A $100.00 application fee (non-refundable/non-transferable) must accompany this application in order to hold you a spot, balance due at Orientation. Discount for early entry.
  6. Contestants (parent/guardian/other family member if contestant is under 18) are required to attend an orientation to be held on entry deadline day.
  7. Contestant is required to attend a minimum of 10 of the scheduled rehearsals. Dress rehearsal is mandatory.
  8. Contestant is required to provide their own transportation to and from all pageant activities.
  9. Contestant must sign in and out of rehearsals or scheduled activities.
  10. Shorts or exercise wear, tennis shoes and high heel shoes must be provided by the contestant and must be worn to all training and rehearsal sessions.
  11. No boyfriends, parents, or other persons will be allowed at training sessions or rehearsals.
  12. Contestant is required to participate in all promotional activities.
  13. Contestants must sell a minimum of 20 pageant tickets. You will receive 1 free ticket for each 10 tickets sold.
  14. Contestant must sell a minimum of 4 Fashion Show tickets.
  15. Contestants will provide their own clothing for competition:

 MISS – Gym Workout Outfit/Sportswear

– Full length gown and high heels

– Interview outfit

             TEEN – Gym Workout Outfit/Sportswear

– Full length teen style gown and heels

– Interview outfit

  1. At no time will parents, friends, or professional groomers be allowed backstage or in dressing room area.
  2. The use of cell phones during the pageant is prohibited.
  3. The contestant selected as Miss Barstow and Teen Miss Barstow will be required to attend selected activities throughout the year.
  4. All princess’s are required to participate in 70% of scheduled activities throughout the year. Failure to participate will result in the loss of scholarship at the end of the year.
  5. Contestants and parents or guardian must abide by the decision of the judges. Any continual indiscriminate interference or negative comments by parent or contestant is cause for contestant to relinquish any title awarded her and elimination from future competitions.
  6. Any applicant entering this pageant under false pretenses (Rule #3) will forfeit any title and all practicable prizes awarded her.
  7. Miss Barstow, Teen Miss Barstow, all princess’s, and Parents shall at all times conduct themselves in a manner that is in keeping with the spirit, prestige, and public image of her title. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of title and all practicable prizes.
  8. In the event that the selected Queen’s or Princess’s should ever fail to meet the criteria for being a contestant (Rule #3) or repeatedly breach any issue of the contract, a letter of resignation is required, the crown, and sash must be returned. All practicable prizes shall be forfeited.
  9. Past Teen Miss Barstow’s must wait a minimum of 1 year before competing for the Miss Barstow Title.
  10. CONTESTANT IS REQUIRED to POST/TWEET periodic promotions for sponsors on Social Media.
  11. Bonus Points in the amount of up to 5 additional points will be awarded for rehearsal attendance, backstage behavior, and social media presence.
